(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes are proud to honor Jerome Bettis as he enters pro football's most hallowed club in Canton, OH this weekend, and in homage to his accomplishments, the Spikes will wear a special Gold Jacket Jersey and give away Gold Jacket Bobbleheads on Sunday, August 9 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The Spikes will take on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians) in a 6:05 p.m. game on Sunday, and in honor of Bettis, a member of the Spikes' ownership group since the franchise's inception, the Spikes will wear the Gold Jacket Jerseys that night to match what "The Bus" will be wearing as his bust is unveiled in pro football's ultimate shrine.

The jerseys will also be up for bids during the game in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction presented by PSECU, with all proceeds benefiting Children's Miracle Network.

Plus, the first 1,000 fans of all ages that night will receive a Jerome Bettis Gold Jacket Bobblehead, presented by The Nittany Lion Inn & The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel and ESPN Radio 1450. Ballpark gates open at 5 p.m.

In honor of "The Bus," August 9 will also be Bus Driver Appreciation Night at the ballpark. All bus drivers will receive a $4 discount on their tickets, except Outfield Bleacher seats, for Sunday's game.

While Bettis will be busy in Canton with the ceremonies surrounding his induction this weekend, fans can still have the opportunity to add these one-of-a-kind items to their collections.

Bettis built his legend after a storied 13-year career in which he rushed for 13,662 yards in his career, good for sixth best all-time, and was twice named an All-Pro. In ten seasons wearing the black and gold in Pittsburgh, Bettis ran for 10,571 yards, second-most in franchise history, and helped lead the 2005 squad to the team's fifth championship.

After Sunday's game, PSECU will also present a fantastic FIREWORKS show to light up the skies over Central PA. It's also Philipsburg-Osceola Community Night at the ballpark, part of the Community Nights series presented by CATACOMMUTE, with a FREE Kids Zone! presented by Friends of Jake Corman.

The Sunday fun also includes Kids Day, presented by First National Bank, with a pre-game catch on the field and Kids Run the Bases after the game thanks to Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc. Kids 12 and under will also get a free hot dog, chips, soda and a one-time free play pass for Ike's Kids Zone thanks to Dairy Queen Grill & Chill.

Sunday is just the beginning of a three-game homestand at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, with the Spikes meeting the Scrappers on Monday and Tuesday as well for a pair of 7:05 p.m. games. Monday is Buck Night, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ. Fans can get into the park with $1 Outfield Bleacher tickets, then enjoy $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas and $1 peanut boats all game long.

Tuesday, the first 500 fans through the gates when they open at 6 p.m. will receive Cowboy Monkey Rodeo-Themed T-Shirts presented by P.J. Harrigan's as part of the T-Shirt Tuesday series presented by The B94.5. The Cowboy Monkey Rodeo returns to State College on Saturday, August 15, and fans can get ready with this special edition T-Shirt.
