STATE COLLEGE, PA - Casey Grayson produced three hits and reached base four times, but the State College Spikes dropped a 2-1 decision to the Batavia Muckdogs in a 10-inning contest that opened up a doubleheader between the teams on Wednesday evening at Dwyer Stadium

Grayson increased his average back to .338, the leading mark in the New York-Penn League, and produced a double. However, the lone State College (21-22) run scored in the sixth inning. Leobaldo Pina took advantage of a dropped foul pop-up to draw a walk, move to second on a Grayson single, and advance to third on a wild pitch.

Pina then crossed the plate thanks to an RBI groundout from Orlando Olivera to give the Spikes a 1-0 lead.

Batavia (16-26) tied the game in the sixth when Anfernee Seymour reached on a base hit, with a subsequent error moving him to third beford he scored on Travis Brewster's groundout.

The Muckdogs won the game in the 10th when Taylor Munden doubled, was bunted to third, and scored on Giovanny Alfonzo's sacrifice fly to right field.

State College starter Dailyn Martinez allowed one run on three hits and a walk over six quality innings, striking out two batters. Max Almonte (0-1) took the loss after allowing the Muckdogs' 10th-inning run on the only hit he yielded.

Steve Farnworth (2-2) got the win in relief for the Muckdogs after tossing two scoreless innings and striking out one batter.
