
IronBirds Walk-Off in 14th

Aberdeen IronBirds News Release
The IronBirds won game two of the three-game series, 6-5 against the Connecticut Tigers in walk-off fashion. Randy Gassaway tallied three RBIs in the 14-inning game.
Never Too Early
With the first two batters reaching base to start the first inning, Randy Gassaway hit a double to left field to bring home the game's first run. Steve Laurino followed up with a hit of his own, scoring Ricardo Andujar. Austin Pfeiffer continued the inning after reaching base on error, allowing Gassaway to score. After the bottom of the first inning, the IronBirds led 3-0.
Matching Gifts
The Tigers matched the IronBirds three runs in the top of the fourth. Cam Gibson launched a two run home run to right field, bringing the Tigers within one. Later in the inning, Corey Baptist scored on a single by Jose Zambrano, to tie the game at three.
Cooking with "Gass"
Resuming play after a 30 minute rain-delay, Gassaway broke the tie with a 2 run single to center. The hit put the IronBirds on top, 5-3.
Déjà vu
Baptist would lead the Tigers' rally in the eighth inning with a two RBI single. The Tigers once again tied the game, this time at five.
"Walk"- Off
With the score still tied at five, and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 14th inning, Laurino was hit-by-a-pitch, driving in the game-winning run.
Bird Watching
Cristian Alvarado matched a season high five innings pitched... Alvarado struck out four while allowing three runs and three hits... Yi-Hsiang Lin won his first game of the year...Lin pitched three scoreless innings while allowing two hits, and striking-out three... Randy Gassaway collected three hits including two doubles and three RBI's... Glynn Davis hit four singles and scored twice in the game.
The Run Around
Five separate IronBirds recorded a run during the game. Davis was the only IronBird to score twice.
