SOUND TIGERS WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT
KEVIN COLLEY
Center - Shoots: Right
Height: 5'11'' Weight: 185 lbs
Born: January 4, 1979 in New Haven, Connecticut
Signed with the Sound Tigers in the summer of 2003 and inked an NHL contract with the Islanders in the summer of 2004
Team captain Kevin Colley visited a meeting of Cub Scout Pack 89 at Holland Hill Elementary School in Fairfield last week. Here are Kevin's answers to some of the questions the scouts asked him...
"Where did you grow up?" I was born in New Haven, but I grew up in Collingwood, Ontario, which is about an hour-and-a-half away from Toronto, and it's where I still live in the summer.
"How did you start playing hockey?" My dad played professionally, including many years for the New Haven Nighthawks, but I just loved to play the game as a kid and so did everyone in my family.
"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" I have an older sister Tara.
"What would you be doing if you weren't playing hockey and what would you want to study if you were in college?" I'd love to stay in hockey as a coach or scout, and if I was in college, I'd study business, so I could be my own boss.
"What's the hardest game you've ever played?" Wow, that's a tough question to answer...I guess it would have to be my first NHL game with the Islanders against the Rangers. It was a dream come true, but all the players up there are so good.
