Sharks recall Stevenson from Cleveland

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled right wing Grant Stevenson from the Cleveland Barons.

Stevenson has earned 16 points (8-8-16) and eight penalty minutes in 17 games with the Barons this season. The 6-foot-4, 230 pound Stevenson paces the team in points (16) and goals (8), and is tied for second in assists (8) and power play goals (3).

Last season, Stevenson was fourth on the team with 39 points and third in assists (25). He finished the season with 14 goals and 25 assists for 39 points in 77 games.

In 2003-04, he finished his rookie season 13th among all AHL rookies in scoring with 39 points (13-26-39) in 71 games.

A native of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Stevenson was signed by the Sharks in 2003 as a free agent.

The Barons will return to National City Rink located in The Q on Saturday, November 26 against the Manitoba Moose at 1:05pm, prior to a Sunday afternoon game against the Moose.
