Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA, PA - In case you're not stuffed enough from your Thanksgiving dinner, there will be plenty of hockey action at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, Nov. 26 to fill you up!

The Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms will engage in an extraordinary hockey doubleheader with the fun beginning at 2 p.m. when the Flyers face off against the New York Islanders. Later that evening, a battle will take place between their respective American Hockey League (AHL) affiliates, the Phantoms and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, at 7:35 p.m.

It's a sports rarity and hockey fan's nirvana, as two organizations will have their arsenals of talent on display on the same day and in the same building. Flyers 36-year old veteran defenseman Eric Desjardins will precede 20-year old Phantoms rookie blueliner Alexandre Picard. Donald Brashear will patrol the afternoon ice and hand the keys over to Phantoms roughneck Riley Cote for the evening tilt.

It's an opportunity for fans to see the Flyers, and the Flyers of tomorrow, under one roof in the span of less than ten hours. In fact, many former Phantoms are now making good with the Flyers this season, including 2005 Calder Cup winners Patrick Sharp, Jon Sim, Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, R.J. Umberger, Dennis Seidenberg, Joni Pitkanen and goaltender Antero Niittymaki.

The new Cingular Pavilion on the Wachovia Center concourse will remain open the entire day, including the period between the end of the Flyers game and the start of the Phantoms contest. The band Bigg Romeo will be performing live between the two games.

Tickets for both games are on sale now. To charge by phone, call (215) 336-2000, (856) 338-9000 or (302) 984-2000. All kids tickets for all Phantoms games are just $8.
