Bulldogs Defeated by Wolves

Chicago, IL - The Hamilton Bulldogs suffered their fifth straight defeat on Wednesday night as they fell by a score of 4-2 to the Chicago Wolves at Allstate Arena. The Bulldogs finished their five-game road trip without a victory. Hamilton's record stands at 7-12-0-1.

Forward Kip Miller gave Chicago a 1-0 lead midway through the opening frame when he tapped-in a loose puck after being left alone at the side of the Bulldogs net.

The Wolves took a two-goal lead at 14:58 of the middle stanza when Mark Popovic's point-shot bounced off Bulldogs netminder Jeff DesLauriers and into the net.

Defenseman Brian Sipotz gave Chicago a 3-0 cushion with 59 seconds left in the second period when he took a low, hard shot that beat DesLauriers.

The Bulldogs cut the Wolves lead to two goals at 8:11 of the third period when Michael Lambert scored his fourth goal of the season. Duncan Milroy earned the lone assist.

Chicago regained its three-goal lead just 36 seconds later when Karl Stewart, who was positioned in the high slot, one-timed Colin Stuart's pass behind DesLauriers.

Bulldogs forward Marc-Antoine Pouliot rounded out the scoring with 1:17 remaining in the game when he scored his third goal of the season. Pouliot batted the puck out of mid-air and into the net after Wolves goaltender Tuomas Tarkki stopped Andrei Kostitsyn's initial shot.

DesLauriers made 28 saves for the Bulldogs and suffered his third loss of the season. Wolves netminder Tuomas Tarkki blocked 31 shots to earn his third win of the season. Goalies...

Hamilton was 1 for 10 on the power play, while Chicago was 1 for 4.

The Bulldogs return home on Friday, November 25, when the Cleveland Barons visit Copps Coliseum for the third time this season.
