Ak-Sar-Ben Knights To Lend Hand On Thanksgiving

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will give thanks this Thanksgiving by pitching in to help the greater Omaha community. Ak-Sar-Ben Knights players and staff will be serving Thanksgiving dinner at the Open Door Mission at 2706 N. 21st E Street in Omaha tomorrow from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Among those players scheduled to lend a hand: Carsen Germyn, Eric Nystrom, Lynn Loyns, Curtis McElhinney, Brandon Prust, Steve Marr, Derek Couture, Cam Cunning, Justin Taylor, Brett Palin, Brandon Rogers and Dustin Johner.

"We realize the need for volunteer help is acute around the holiday season, and we are looking forward to helping the Open Door Mission help others," said Doug Soetaert, Ak-Sar-Ben Knights President. "This is all part of our goal to give back to the community that supports us."

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will be back on home ice on Friday when they host the Iowa Stars at 7:00 p.m. The team then travels to Chicago on Saturday to play the Chicago Wolves at 7:00 p.m. The Knights finish the weekend back home on Sunday to host the Stars in a 5:00 p.m. matinee.

Tickets for all of the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' regular season home games are on sale now at the Civic box office weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 422-1212 and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are also available on-line at Ticketmaster.com.
