Peoria Rivermen News Release

Peoria, IL (November 23, 2005) - Ticket Sales Manager Wendy Mitchell of the Peoria Rivermen, proud new primary affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, today announced that the Rivermen have selected the Peoria Fire Department as the benefactor of the team's "Teddy Bear Toss" that is planned for Sunday, December 4.

The Rivermen Teddy Bear Toss will occur on Sunday, December 4, when the Milwaukee Admirals visit Carver Arena to take on the Rivermen at 5:00 p.m. All fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a new or used teddy bear to throw onto the Carver Arena ice surface immediately after the Rivermen score their first goal in the game.

All teddy bears that are thrown onto the rink that evening will be donated to the Peoria Fire Department (PFD). Each year, the PFD collects teddy bears from throughout the Peoria community and uses them to comfort kids who the firefighters encounter in their firefighting and rescue efforts. The Rivermen Teddy Bear Toss will supplement this program.

The Rivermen game on December 4 will also be a Peoria Journal-Star/Insight Media "Kids' Day." As part of that promotion, all Upper Bowl seats are priced at just $4.50 for kids ages 12 and under.

The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and is celebrating its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.

Group and season tickets for the inaugural Rivermen AHL season are now on sale! To obtain more information or to purchase season tickets, please contact Rivermen Director of Ticket Operations Jim Small at (309) 676-1040, extension 106, or tickets@rivermen.net.
