November 23, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Cleveland Barons News Release
HERSHEY, PA - Dave Steckel?s three-point performance was too much for the Barons to overcome in a 4-2 loss at Hershey. The Bears have gained a point in their last 11-games played while the Barons were defeated for the fourth time in a row.
The Hershey Bears entered the night with the AHL?s hottest power play having scored 11 goals in the last two-games with the man-advantage. However, it was the Barons that won the first period special teams battle. Each team was issued three power play chances, but the Barons scored the only goal of the opening frame on their opening power play chance of the game. Patrick Rissmiller?s scored his seventh goal of the year on assists from Josh Hennessy and Doug Murray. Dimitri Patzold made his sixth appearance of the year and was splendid with 11-saves in the first period.
The Barons gave up a season high 22-shots on goal from the Hershey Bears along with their lead, skating into the locker room after two periods in a 2-2 tie. Tim Conboy scored his 3rd goal of the season for the Barons just 1:20 into the game to extend the Barons lead 2-0. Hershey answered late in the frame with a power play goal from Chris Bourque to trim the lead in half. Dave Steckel tied the game at 2-2 just 31-seconds later with a rebound goal for his 3rd of the year. The Barons were out-shot 22-7 during the period.
Hershey scored the only goals of the third period to close out the Barons 4-2. David Steckel?s 2nd goal of the night gave Hershey their first lead of the day at the 8:57 mark of the final period with assists from Owen Fussy and Louis Robitaille. Graham Mink secured the win with an empty net goal for his team leading 13th of the year. The goal from Mink was scored with three-seconds left in the game on an assist from Steckel.
