Simon Ferguson Joins Grizzlies From Syracuse

Boise, Idaho - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that forward Simon Ferguson has joined the team from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch. He was released by Syracuse on Tuesday.

Ferguson met the Grizzlies in Boise today and will be in the lineup tonight when they visit Idaho at 7:10 p.m.

The Grizzlies acquired the rights to the 26-year-old along with goaltender Mike Morrison from the Florida Everblades on December 15 in exchange for Shea Guthrie. Morrison remains with the AHL's Albany River Rats.

Ferguson has played 328 of 380 total career games in the AHL and totaled six assists and 102 penalty minutes in 42 games with the Crunch this year. In 52 career ECHL games with Greenville in 2004-2005 and Augusta in 2006-2007, he tallied 10 goals and 32 assists for 42 points and 248 penalty minutes in 52 games.
