Wheeling Nailers News Release

Wheeling, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the AA affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced the acquisition of rookie Kale Kerbashian.

At only 19 years old, Kerbashian will be making his professional debut in some critical games for the Nailers. The center spent the past four seasons playing Major Juniors in the Ontario Hockey League. This year with the Sarnia Sting, Kerbashian scored a career high 26 goals and 56 points in 58 games this year to lead his team in scoring. Sarnia was recently eliminated from their post-season allowing him to join the Nailers.

Last year he split time between London (Ontario) and Mississauga St. Michael's. And before that he played the entire season for the London Knights.

Kerbashian hails from Thunder Bay, Ontario which is the same hometown of the "Chief" Greg Puhalski. The lefty shot checks in at 5' 11" and 165 pounds.

Wheeling plays games on Wednesday and Friday nights at Kalamazoo and then returns home on Saturday and Sunday to host Kalamazoo and Toledo back to back.

The Nailers will be wearing their Penguins replica Baby Blue jerseys for the last time in the Saturday game. An online auction of the jerseys will commence on e-bay after the game.

Fans are allowed to bring their dogs to the game on Sunday as part of Pups and Pucks and there will also be a post-game skate after the game with the Wheeling Nailers players.
