Everett Silvertips News Release

VANCOUVER - Carter Hart, a 2016 NHL Entry Draft eligible goaltender, secured his WHL leading 24th win of the season with 21 saves and Carson Stadnyk buoyed the Everett Silvertips offense with a pair of assists for a 6-0-2 streak in eight games, in a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Giants before 4,722 fans at Pacific Coliseum on Friday.

The Silvertips improved their recent play on the road to ten games unbeaten in regulation, out of 11 overall and closed their regular season series with Vancouver at a 4-2-0 record. Remi Laurencelle added his team leading 25th goal of the season, a new career high, and Connor Dewar's go-ahead goal in the second period stood as the game winner.

Laurencelle deflected a low shot by Carson Stadnyk through the five hole of Ryan Kubic for a 1-0 lead at 8:07 of the first period, but Dmitry Osipov's seeing-eye shot from the blueline ricocheted off Dawson Leedahl for a 1-1 tie at 11:03. On the next shift, a rare turnover by Carter Hart, finding the tape of Alec Baer in the right corner, wound up in the Silvertips net as Baer's centering pass hit the Silvertips defense and deflected into the net at 11:21.

The Silvertips extinguished the deficit just 1:23 later when Patrick Bajkov finished Matt Fonteyne's feed between the circles, after Vancouver turned the puck over to Stadnyk, for a 2-2 tie.

Everett stabilized their game further in the second period and held the Giants to seven shots on goal. Dewar's goal, putting the Silvertips up 3-2, occurred when Dario Winkler corralled a long pass up the boards at the right circle, and found the tape of Dewar while driving to the net. Dewar re-directed the feed with precision, over Kubic's blocker at 7:08 for the one-goal lead.

Vancouver was only able to manage eight shots in the third period but the Silvertips were challenged after a late penalty and six-on-four skating disadvantage after Kubic was pulled in the final minute. Hart turned away the Giants' best chance, a rebound to Thomas Foster from tight range with 16 seconds left, and the Silvertips pinned the Giants in the left corner to seal the victory.

Kubic made 19 saves in the loss.
