Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants fell 3-2 to the hands of the Everett Silvertips on Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum. The G-Men got their two goals from Dmitry Osipov and Alec Baer. The Silvertips jumped out in front eight minutes into the first period when Remi Laurencelle tipped in a point shot past Giants goaltender Ryan Kubic. The Giants answered back midway through the frame when Osipov scored his second of the season on a point shot, beating a screened Carter Hart in the Everett net. Eighteen seconds later, Baer gave Vancouver the lead when he stripped Hart of the puck below the goal line and banked in his 15th marker of the season. The ‚¬ËœTips tied the game at 2-2 before the end of the period with a goal by Patrick Bajkov. Everett reestablished their lead in the middle stanza when Connor Dewar bulged the twine off the rush.

The Giants had a few opportunities to tie the game, the best chance coming from Chase Lang who hit the post on a late third period power play, but the Silvertips held on for the victory. The G-Men are back in action on Saturday when they host the Prince George Cougars. Puck drop is set for 5:00pm at the Rink on Renfrew.
