SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Swift Current Broncos edged the Rebels 2-1 Saturday night. The Rebels ended their 3-game road trip with 1 win and 2 losses.
There was no scoring in the first period.
In the second period, Jon Martin gave the Broncos the lead. Michael Spacek tied it up for Red Deer. It was 1-1 after 40 minutes.
With just under 7 minutes remaining in the game, Martin scored his second of the night and the Broncos were able to hold on for the 2-1 win.
The Rebels outshot the Broncos 39-16, Rylan Toth made 14 saves for Red Deer; Taz Burman made 38 saves for Swift Current.
The Rebels were 0 for 4 on the power play; the Broncos were 0 for 2.
The Rebels are at home on Wednesday when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors for a 7:00PM game at the ENMAX Centrium.
