Wheat Kings Host Warriors Tonight

Brandon, MB. - Some lucky fan attending Saturday's Western Hockey League game between the Wheat Kings and visiting Moose Jaw Warriors will go home a big winner.

The WHL club, in association with The Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Center are pleased to announce that some lucky ticket holder tonight will win a "Wheat King Weekend Getaway" during tonight's game.

Special public address announcements will be made in each period tonight, identifying a lucky seat number (in the first), a lucky row (in the second) and finally the winning section (in the third period).

That lucky fan will go home with a prize package that includes the following:

A 2-night stay at Brandon's Victoria Inn Hotel

2 complimentary Dinners for two at the Victoria Inn's 34th Street Bar and Grill

A pair of tickets to a weekend Wheat Kings home game

2 Wheat Kings' replica jerseys

The Wheat Kings will be hoping to run their home ice winning streak to eight games tonight, after blanking the MasterCard Memorial Cup Host Red Deer Rebels 4-0 on Friday.

Brandon is currently 27-12-2-2 and sitting atop the WHL's Eastern Division. The Wheat Kings are currently two points up on second place Prince Albert in the division and two back of Red Deer for second place in the Eastern Conference.

The Warriors, led by Brayden Point, occupy sixth place in the Conference with a record of 22-15-5-1. Moose Jaw trails the Raiders by six and the Wheat Kings by eight in the division. Point, who is averaging better than two points per game this season served as captain of Team Canada at this year's World Junior Hockey Championship in Finland.

Tonight's game is also another Brandon Source for Sports-Subway Family Night at Westman Place.

This game will be Brandon's last home game in almost three weeks as the Wheat Kings won't play at WCG Place again until February 4th when Prince George comes to town.
