
Sens Snap Five-Game Losing Streak with 11-2 Win

Harrisburg Senators News Release
On Saturday night, the Senators (30-16) erupted for nine runs in the fifth inning and went on to beat the Reading Fightin Phils (24-18) 11-2. Trailing 2-0 into the bottom of the fourth, the Senators tied the game. In the fifth, the Sens sent 14 batters to the plate scoring a season-high nine runs in the frame. The explosion made a winner out of Sterling Sharp. Harrisburg went 9-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
Turning Point
With one out in the fifth inning and the game tied 2-2, Adrian Sanchez doubled in Luis Sardinas with the go-ahead run. Following the double, the Senators had six two-out run scoring hits to plate nine runs, a season-high for an inning, and cruised to the win.
On Capitol Hill
Sterling Sharp started and scattered 10 hits, allowing two runs, one earned. He earned the win when the Sens exploded in the last of the fifth.
Jacob Condra-Bogan and Ronald Pena both worked two scoreless innings. They combined to strike out three and allowed just a single.
With the Gavel
Adrian Sanchez had three hits and two RBIs, the first of which gave the Sens a 3-2 lead in the fifth.
Chuck Taylor had three hits and two RBIs, with both the RBIs coming in separate at bats in the fifth inning.
Ian Sagdal had three hits and drove in three. His first RBI tied the game in the fourth. He knocked in two more with a double in the fifth.
Luis Garcia had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run.
Every Senator starter, and pinch-hitter Luis Sardinas, scored a run in the game.
The 11 runs is a season-high for the Senators and the 15 hits equals their season-high.
Filibusters
The Senators snapped their five-game losing streak with the win.
It was the second time this season manager Matt LeCroy was thrown out of a game.
The attendance was 6,274, the largest crowd of the season at FNB Field.
The 9 run fifth inning was the Sens largest inning since August 2015 against Portland.
Harrisburg is 9-12 in May after going 21-4 in April.
