
Schell Named CCM TACKS Player Of Month for December

The ECHL announced today that Gladiators forward Brad Schell has been named the CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for December.
Schell entered and finished the month of December as the ECHL's leading scorer. He began the month with an ECHL leading 30 points while adding 8 goals and 22 assists to finish December with 60 points. His 22 assists and 30 points during December was an ECHL high in both categories during the month.
The Scott, Saskatchewan native set a new career record for most consecutive games with at least a point as he scored in 15 straight games for the Gladiators from November 25th through December 30th. His streak encompassed the entire month while he posted multiple points in 11 of 13 games in December.
The Scott, Saskatchewan native had back-to-back three-point nights against Columbia on Dec. 23 (1g-2a) and 27 (2g-1a) and on Dec. 15 scored four points (1g-3a) including the game-winning goal in a 5-3 win over Pensacola. The 6-foot and 190-pound Schell had four power-play goals and one shorthand goal in December.
Schell was also selected as a starter for the American Conference Squad for the 2007 RBK ECHL All Star Game in Boise, Idaho, on January 17th.
Schell was selected in the sixth round, #167 overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers and is under contract to Atlanta. Schell is in his third season in the ECHL, all with Gwinnett while he has also spent time in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves during each of the past two seasons.
