Nailers and Chiefs Staffs to Face Off
January 9, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers' and Johnstown Chiefs' front office staffs will square off on Monday, January 15 after the big boys play at 1 p.m.
In what is sure not to be a display of grace, skill or speed, the staffs will do their best to entertain the fans who stick around to watch.
Nailers owners, and converted forwards, Jim and Rob Brooks will attempt to put the puck past Chiefs owner Jim Weber, who will be playing goalie. Broadcasters Brendan Burke and Leif Skodnick will square off against each other without their headsets while the Nailers will dress one of their 2007 Rbk ECHL All-Star representatives, equipment manager Billy Higgins will be between the pipes for Wheeling.
"Not even the 'Hanson Brothers' could help these Chiefs," said Nailers Account Manager, Chris Perez. "There may be plenty of history at the War Memorial but we write our own history."
The Nailers and Chiefs have long enjoyed a hard fought rivalry on the ice and this game is destined to take it to the next level. The loser of the contest will have to wear a t-shirt of the opposing team at the next Wheeling-Johnstown match up in the loser's home arena.
Wheeling will not be without fans as a bus of over 40 Nailers fans will be there cheering on their favorite staff members.
The two teams will play the second game of the home-and-home series on Saturday, February 24 at WesBanco Arena.
The Nailers next game is Friday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. against the Reading Royals. Tickets are available now by calling 304-234-GOAL, by visiting the Nailers team store located at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling, or online at www.WheelingNailers.com.
