Local AM 970 ESPN Radio to Carry All-Star Game Radio Broadcast

STOCKTON, Calif. - The 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game is scheduled to air live on AM 970 ESPN Radio, the Stockton Thunder announced today in conjunction with AM 970 ESPN Radio and the ECHL.

Thunder play-by-play announcer Mike Benton will handle on-air duties for the broadcast along with Mike O'Brien of the Trenton Titans and Kevin Reiter of the Florida Everblades for the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 17 at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho.

The Thunder will be sending an ECHL-high four players to the All-Star Game. Center Nathan Martz and defenseman Beau Geisler were named to the National Conference starting lineup, while goaltender Devan Dubnyk and right wing Troy Bodie also garnered selections to the National Conference team in their professional rookie seasons. Additionally, Thunder head coach Chris Cichocki will serve as a coach for the National Conference while head athletic trainer Kevin Anderson will serve on the training staff for the All-Star Game.

Offered free of charge by the league to ECHL teams the audio broadcast begins at 5:45 p.m. PT followed by the 15th Annual ECHL All-Star Game at 6:05 p.m. PT.

The broadcast is also being carried online by B2 Networks, the "Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL."

NHL Radio will produce the broadcast which will feature a play-by-play announcer, a color commentator and a roving reporter who will be ice level interviewing participants and others involved with the All-Star Game as well as representatives from the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League.

The ECHL announced that the additional stations carrying the 2007 Rbk Hockey ECHL All-Star Game will be 1350 KTIK - The Ticket in Boise, Idaho; 1550 Sporting News Radio KXEX-AM in Fresno, Calif.; ESPN 910 The Team in North Charleston, S.C.; and KKAT AM 860 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
