Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta, GA - The Augusta Lynx put a five game home winning streak on the line tonight when the ECHL South Division-leading Texas Wildcatters visit for a 7:35 pm game on Metro Spirit Two-For-Tuesday.

The Wildcatters have won two of three meetings between the teams, with the most recent a 5-2 contest in Augusta on November 26. Boasting the ECHL's second-best power play unit at 20.2% and ranking fifth in goals-for per game at 3.78, Texas has outscored opponents 121-99 this season. Brandin Cote leads the team in goals with 16, while Mike Bayrack's 21 assists and 36 points put him first in those categories.

In net, Matt Yeats has the lion's share of the wins for Texas with a 14-6-2-1 mark and a pair of shutouts to go with his 2.92 GAA and .916 save percentage. Yeats, however, gave up the only points the Wildcatters have ceded to the Lynx this year, an overtime loss in which starter Miroslav Kopriva dug Texas into a hole they could not recover from. Both Wildcatters goalies have goals against averages over 3.50 against Augusta this year.

In the season series, Louis Goulet leads all scorers with five goals and eight points. He scored four of those, including the game winner, in the overtime game in Texas November 17. Dave McKee has the win against the Wildcatters while former Lynx Brett Jaeger was saddled with both losses.

Heading into the game Augusta's Ryan Lang is on a seven-game scoring streak, notching three goals and 11 points over that stretch. Also, McKee has gone 3-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .931 save percentage in his last three starts.

Tonight's game is also key for Augusta as they look to return to .500 at home with a victory. After starting out well on the road, the Lynx have found ways to win at home, including a pair of wins over Gwinnett and singles against Charlotte, Johnstown, and Pensacola.

Mezzanine seats are on sale for just $5 for tonight's game, with Lower Bowl priced at $15 and Preferred Level seats $18. Get yours now by calling the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, through all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
