Chiefs, Nailers staff to square off January 15
January 9, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA (January 9, 2007) - The Johnstown Chiefs staff will take on the staff of their North Division rival, the Wheeling Nailers, in an exhibition hockey game following the Chiefs home game against the Nailers on January 15. The game is expected to begin around 4:00 p.m. at the Cambria County War Memorial, and fans are invited to stay. It is expected that Chiefs President Jim Weber, fresh off of a vacation to Mexico, will be in the starting lineup for Johnstown.
"It's going to be a lot of fun, getting out there against the Nailers staff," said Chiefs Vice President of Business Operations Kevin McGeehan. "But let's not kid around here. Winning is the objective, and we've put together a good team. This game will definitely enrich the Johnstown-Wheeling rivalry, and hopefully a good crowd will stick around to watch us get the big win."
As added motivation, the losing team will have to wear a t-shirt from the winning team at the next Johnstown-Wheeling game at the loser's home arena.
The next Chiefs home game is Monday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m. against the Wheeling Nailers when the kids have off for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Discounted seats for the MLK day game are available for as low as $8 for school age children! Pick up your tickets for both games at the Cambria County War Memorial box office between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or by calling the War Memorial box office at 536-5156 or 1 (800) CHF-TIXX.
