AUGUSTA, Ga. - Taylor Rogers spun 7.0 brilliant innings of one-run ball as the Augusta GreenJackets finished off a three-game sweep of the Charleston RiverDogs, 4-1, in South Atlantic League action Tuesday night in front of 1,344 fans at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Augusta improved to 26-33 with the victory, while Charleston regressed to 23-36 with its fourth straight defeat.

Rogers (5-6) gave up an early run, but permitted little else in defeating the RiverDogs for the second time in two weeks. The 6-4 right-hander allowed only one run over his 7.0 frames, scattering five hits and striking out three.

A pair of singles enabled the RiverDogs to get out to a 1-0 lead against Augusta starter Taylor Rogers in the top of the second. Rob Segedin reached base on an infield hit, moved to second on a groundout and scored when Kelvin De Leon stroked a sharp groundball RBI single to right field.

Charleston starter Mikey O'Brien rebounded from a rough start his last time on the mound, shutting out Augusta through the first four innings while allowing just two hits and fanning four. Augusta broke through, however, to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth.

Chris Lofton worked a leadoff walk, crossed to third on a single by Ehire Adrianza, and made the 90-foot sprint to the plate on an Adam Duvall sacrifice fly center field.

A newly minted SAL All-Star, O'Brien was excellent in 5.0 innings of work, allowing just the one run on three hits and four walks, while fanning four.

Tommy Kahnle (1-2) entered in relief of O'Brien to start the sixth and had trouble finding the plate, as the GreenJackets staked themselves to a 4-1 lead. All of the damage came with two outs, as Kahnle saw his streak of eleven consecutive innings without yielding an earned run come to an end.

Joel Weeks ripped a double to left field, and Raynor Campbell and Lofton were issued free passes to load the bases for Carlos Willoughby. Kahnle issued another walk to force in the go-ahead run, and a wild pitch sent Campbell scampering home all the way from second base for a 3-1 Augusta advantage. The bout of wildness continued with Adrianza batting, as the second wild pitch of the frame forced in Lofton for the final tally of the rally.

Jacob Dunnington relieved Rogers and fanned the side in the eighth, and Stephen Harrold worked around a Ramon Flores leadoff double to preserve the victory with his ninth save of the season in the ninth.

The RiverDogs enjoy a rare off-day tomorrow before returning to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park to start a three game series with the Asheville Tourists on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Zach Nuding (5-4, 5.47 ERA) is schedule to head to the mound for Charleston, versus fellow righty Albert Campos (3-4, 6.75 ERA) of Asheville.
