June 7, 2011 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lexington Legends News Release
David Renfroe's single scored Henry Ramos with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Greenville Drive edged the Lexington Legends 5-4 Tuesday night in Greenville.
The Legends broke on top with three runs in the third inning. Chris Wallace led off the inning with his 12th home run of the year. With two outs, singles by Tyler Burnett and Jhonny Medrano put runners at first and third. Both scored when Ben Orloff tripled to left center field.
Greenville matched those three runs in the bottom of the third on RBI singles by Miles Head, Brandon Jacobs and Drew Hedman.
The Legends took a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning on a single by Orloff and a double by Jordan Scott, but Greenville answered with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Josue Peley was hit by a pitch, went to second on a balk, stole third, and came home when Wallace's throw went into left field for an error.
In the ninth, Ramos reached second on an error by Scott, the left fielder. He went to third on an infield out by Peley, and scored when Renfroe grounded a single up the middle past the Legends' drawn-in infield.
