Rome Emperors News Release

Rome, GA - Eric Krupa, president of the South Atlantic League, has announced the rosters for the 52nd Annual SAL All-Star Game, scheduled to be played on June 21, 2011, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland, home of the Delmarva Shorebirds. The Rome Braves have two representatives this year.

Pitcher Caleb Brewer and first baseman Jakob Dalfonso will join the Southern Division All-Star team for the 52nd annual event. At 4-2 on the season and a 3.04 ERA, Brewer has pitched extremely well especially over the last few weeks. In May he was 2-1 with a 2.90 ERA in 31 innings pitched. Dalfonso has enjoyed a solid first half hitting .301 with nine home runs to lead the team. Jakob is second on the team with 27 RBI. He was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week of May 23 - 29 where he hit .478 with four homers and 10 RBI during that span.

Both all-star teams will be represented by 26 players, selected by the votes of the team's managers and coaching staffs, local media and front office executives. Arthur W. Perdue Stadium will be hosting its second SAL All-Star game. The last time the All-Star Game was held in Salisbury was in 1999, when the Southern Division defeated the Northern Division 5-2 in 10 innings. The annual SAL All-Star Game dates to 1960, when the All-Stars defeated the Salisbury club, 6-2, in Newton, NC.

The Braves continue their road trip tonight in Kannapolis. The team returns home on Thursday June 9th to begin a three game home stand. For ticket information call the Rome Braves ticket office at 706-378-5144 or purchase tickets online at wwww.romebraves.com.
