
Rivermen to Visit Children's Hospital of Illinois

Peoria, Ill. (October 22, 2008) - Director of Community Relations/Game Operations Lisa Broadhurst announced today that eight players from the Peoria Rivermen will visit with patients at the Children's Hospital of Illinois on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 2-3pm.
Chris Conner, Nicholas Drazenovic, Curtis Fraser, Nikolay Lemtyugov, Ryan Reaves, Tyson Strachan, Ivan Vishnevskiy and Trent Whitfield are all expected to be in attendance to make special Halloween treats, sign autographs and take pictures with the patients. This will mark the first of three Rivermen visits to the Children's Hospital this season.
Each year, Children's Hospital has over 5,000 admissions; 2,000 newborn deliveries, and 16,000 emergency department visits. It is the third largest pediatric hospital in Illinois and the only full service tertiary hospital for children in central Illinois. Children's Hospital is located inside OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 530 N.E Glen Oak Avenue.

The Rivermen return to the ice on Friday to take on the Quad City Flames on Halloween. There will be a costume contest during the second intermission and any fan that comes to the game in costume will receive two (2) FREE tickets to an upcoming Rivermen home game. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. The homestand will continue on Sunday evening with the Manitoba Moose in town.
