RIVERMEN UPCOMING PROMOTIONS

Friday, October 31

HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST - Any fan that comes to the game in costume will receive two (2) FREE tickets to an additional Rivermen home game ($30 value). During the second intermission, the Rivermen will name three winners in the costume contest (Grand Prize, Ages 10 and under, Ages 11 and up).

Sunday, November 2

COMCAST/JOURNAL STAR/FUN ON THE RUN/COKE FAMILY DAY - Kids 12 and Under - $1 Upper Bowl Admission; Hot Dogs, Cokes and Kitchen Cooked Chips - $1 each. One hour prior to game; inflatable games, balloon art (Unique Twist) and face painting. Post-game skate with the team.

Radio: All 80 games, home and away, are broadcast live on your NEW Home for Rivermen Hockey, Hippie Radio 101.1 FM. All broadcasts begin 15 minutes before game time with the Voice of the Rivermen, Brendan Burke.

Internet Audio: LIVE streaming audio of all Rivermen games is available for no charge at www.rivermen.net.

Internet Video: LIVE streaming video with the accompanying audio feed is available at www.rivermen.net through the facilities of the NEW AHL Live. The video Web cast of each game is available for a pay-per-view fee of $6.

WEEK 3 - RIVERMEN ACTION (2-1-0-0)

Friday, October 24 - RIVERMEN 3 @ Milwaukee 6: The Milwaukee Admirals used a strong start to build an early lead and held off the Peoria Rivermen, 6-3, on Friday at the Bradley Center. The Rivermen scored two twice in the final period to cut the Admirals' lead to just two but an empty netter in the final two minutes ended the comeback bid. Jim Jackson, Nikolay Lemtyugov and Nicholas Drazenovic each scored a goal.

Saturday, October 25 - RIVERMEN 5 vs. Lake Erie 2: The Peoria Rivermen used a total team effort to dismantle the Lake Erie Monsters 5-2 at Carver Arena on Saturday night. Twelve different players registered at least a point for the Rivermen as they improved to 5-0-0 against the Monsters all-time. Chris Holt was strong in his Rivermen debut as he made 23 saves to earn the win. The Rivermen scored three power-play goals, including the game-winner by Julian Talbot just before the end of the second period.

Sunday, October 26 - RIVERMEN 5 vs. Lake Erie 2: Steve Regier, Trent Whitfield and Jeff Woywitka all notched two points to help the Rivermen pick up two points in a 5-2 win over the Lake Erie Monsters on Sunday at Carver Arena. The Rivermen used five power-play goals over the two-game series with Lake Erie to improve to 6-0-0 all-time against the Monsters. Lake Erie lead for only 41 seconds of the entire two-game set as the Rivermen scored the final three goals of the game to pull away. Former Rivermen goaltender, Jason Bacashihua, took the loss for the Monsters.

AHL Power-play Ranking Entering This Week: 28th - 7.1 % (2-for-28)

AHL Penalty-kill Ranking Entering This Week: T-4th - 87.5% (21-for-24) POWER-PLAY PUSH...The Rivermen scored six power-play goals over the three games this weekend to improve to 19.7% overall (8th) on the year. At Carver Arena, their percentage jumps to 24.1% which is eighth best in the AHL as well.

NOT AFRAID OF MONSTERS...The Lake Erie Monsters are now winless in six games against the Peoria Rivermen all-time. The Rivs have outscored Lake Erie 26-12 over that stretch. The last three consecutive meetings have ended in 5-2 Rivermen wins.

MR. OCTOBER...Steve Regier has tallied an impressive nine points (5g, 4a) over the first eight games of the season but the way he has accomplished it is even more impressive. After being held pointless in the first two games, he has notched a point in each of the last six games. He has two multi-goal games, three multi-point games, two game-winners and a power-play goal.

BIG BEN...Ben Bishop became the first player of the 2008-09 season to play for St. Louis after appearing in a game with Peoria. He made his NHL debut on Friday and became the tallest goalie to ever play in the NHL, standing at 6-foot-7-inches tall.

CARVING THE COMPETITION...Carver Arena has been kind to the Rivermen so far this season. With their wins over Lake Erie this weekend, they remained unbeaten in regulation at home with a 3-0-1 record.
