Connecticut Whale News Release

The Wolf Pack won two out of three games this week, to climb back to the .500 mark at 3-3-0-1 for seven points. After a 5-4 shootout loss in Worcester on Wednesday night, the Pack rebounded to post its first back-to-back wins of the season. They outlasted the Philadelphia Phantoms, 2-1, at the XL Center on Friday evening and then posted their first multiple-goal triumph of the season Saturday at home vs. Manchester, 4-1. P.A. Parenteau scored goals in all three of the week's games and totaled 3-2-5 for the three contests, and Miika Wiikman was First Star of both Friday's and Saturday's wins, stopping 61 out of 63 total shots.

- Portland has won four of its five games thus far this year, for eight points, and sits in second place in the Atlantic Division, three points behind division-leading Providence.

- The Pirates ended the Wolf Pack's season last year, in a five-game triumph in the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, after the Pack had compiled a 3-3-0-1 regular-season record vs. Portland.
