RHP Juan Minaya Promoted to Chicago White Sox Today

RHP Juan Minaya, who has compiled a 1-3 record with two saves and a 4.24 ERA in 19 games (23.1 IP) with the Charlotte Knights this season, was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. He has appeared in five games this season with the White Sox over three stints and has allowed four runs on three hits over 3.1 innings pitched. He takes the roster spot of RHP Nate Jones, who was placed on Chicago's 10-day disabled list with a pronator muscle strain in his right arm.

For the season, the Knights have promoted 14 players to the Chicago White Sox. Those 14 players, along with the date(s) of their promotion, are as follows: RHP Bruce RondÏŒn (April 8), RHP Chris Volstad (April 12), RHP Gregory Infante (April 21), RHP Chris Beck (April 23), OF Daniel Palka (April 24), RHP Juan Minaya (April 28, June 5, and June 13), RHP Dylan Covey (April 28 & May 19), LHP Jace Fry (May 4), INF José RondÏŒn (May 5 & May 19), OF Charlie Tilson (May 24), C Alfredo González (May 24), INF Matt Skole (May 28), C Kevan Smith (June 5), and LHP Xavier Cedeño (June 7). Last season, 22 players earned a promotion from Charlotte to Chicago.
