
Reno Wins Final Game of 2019, Improves to 10-1 in Final Regular-Season Contests

Salt Lake City, Utah. - It's officially over. The 2019 season came to a close Monday afternoon with an Aces 7-1 victory in Salt Lake City. The Reno pitching staff was the story in the 140th contest of the season. Right-hander Taylor Widener rejoined the Aces active roster following a month-long stint on Reno's injured list. Widener tossed a scoreless frame in a scheduled one-inning appearance. Braden Shipley followed and was sharp from start to finish. The Nevada righty went four innings, did not allow a hit and stuck out three. The Reno pitching staff took a no-hitter into the sixth. Bryan Menendez allowed an RBI single to Bees slugger Caleb Cowart with two outs that tied the game at one. Chris Cron's offense responded with four runs in the seventh, one run in the eighth and one run in the ninth to extend their lead to six. Lucas Luetge came on in the bottom of the 9th and recorded the final three outs of the season. The win gives Reno a 66-74 2019 record. Additionally, Reno has won the final regular-season game of the season in 10 of their 11 seasons as a franchise. ??????????????
