Missions Lose Finale in 13 Innings

NASHVILLE--The Missions and Sounds needed 13 innings to settle the score in the final game of the season on Monday afternoon at First Tennessee Park, with Nashville pulling out a 6-5 win as the game ended with Missions catcher Tuffy Gosewisch on the mound.

Both teams squandered scoring chances in extra frames, with each team plating a run in the 10th inning. The Sounds finally iced the win on a scoring fly ball off the bat of Matt Davidson. Gosewisch had turned in two scoreless innings of relief prior to the final frame.

Nashville and San Antonio combined to go 4-for-36 with runners in scoring postion.

The Missions finished the season with an 80-60 mark but endured an 8-17 stretch to finish the campaign.
