Reign Acquire Kevin Baker's Rights

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions, and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, received rookie center Kevin Baker in a trade made on Friday with the Trenton Titans.

Baker, 25, made his professional debut this season with his time split between the San Francisco Bulls, South Carolina Stingrays, Florida Everblades, and Trenton Titans for a total of 39 games played. In that time he recorded ten points with six goals and four assists. Baker has posted just four penalty minutes.

Last season the Brampton, Ontario native finished his fourth and final season with the University of Western Ontario Mustangs. Baker ranked among the top three players in points all four seasons including being the team's point-leader his freshman and junior year with 28 and 32 points, respectively.

During his collegiate career, Baker represented Canada at the 2011 World University Games. In his freshman year, 2008-09, the Mustangs won the OUA Championship. For the 2010-11 season, Baker was selected for the OUA West second All-Star team and in 2011-12 he was selected for the OUA first All-Star Team.

The 5-foot-11, 186-pound center spent five seasons in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack, Sudbury Wolves and Oshawa Generals; with the bulk of the time in Sudbury. Baker registered 228 points (109g, 119a) in 324 games. He completed his junior career with a plus-minus rating of -6.

In 2004 and 2006, Baker attended NHL training camps for the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators.
