Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced the team has acquired future considerations from the Florida Everblades in exchange for the rights to rookie goaltender Cody Reichard (RIGH-card).

Reichard, 26, was 13-8-5 in 27 games with the Thunder this season. He has collected one shutout, a .911 save percentage and 2.64 goals against average.

Reichard previously had a decorated four year career in college in Oxford, Ohio at Miami University (NCAA). He went 53-24-9 in 92 career games for the RedHawks with a 2.10 goals against average, .912 save percentage and tied the program record with 12 career shutouts.

Reichard was loaned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League on Feb. 17.

"We appreciate Cody's efforts and he performed tremendously during his time in Stockton," said Thunder head coach Matt Thomas. "This was a necessary transaction based on a number of factors, including our connection with goaltending depth in the Oilers system and Cody's need for playing time in the postseason. We wish him the very best."

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12. Season Tickets, Group Tickets and Mini-Plans are on sale now.
