ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced the return of defenseman and former Reign Captain David Walker to the lineup.

Walker, 33, returns to the Reign after spending the 2011-12 season overseas with Schwenningen ERC. While there, he played 45 games recording 18 points (8g, 10a); ranking second on the team in defensemen.

The 6-foot, 200-pound skater led Reign defensemen each of the three seasons he spent with the team from 2008-11; posting an all-time Reign record for points by a defenseman with 108 points (19g, 89a) over a span of 210 games. Walker is currently tied with Kyle Kraemer for the Reign's all-time assist record with 89 and holds the record for most games played by a Reign player with 210.

Until this season, Walker held the Reign records for most all-time points by an individual player with 108 and most penalty minutes with 348.

Walker, a native of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, made his professional debut with the Long Beach Ice Dogs in 2004 where he played for two more seasons registering 47 points (8g, 39a) in 181 games. He finished with a +4 and 352 penalty minutes. During the 2007-08 season, Walker played with the CHL's Laredo Bucks for 38 games where he earned 15 points (1g, 14a).

Walker's collegiate career at Dalhousie University spanned 2000-04. He registered 15 goals and 36 assists for 51 total points in 96 games, 179 penalty minutes with a -6 rating.

The defenseman skated at the junior level with the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats for three seasons. In 68 games he earned 13 points (1g, 12a) and 347 penalty minutes.

In further transactions, defenseman Tommy Fitzpatrick and forward Branden Parkhouse were released by the Reign and are eligible for waiver claims.

Fitzpatrick, 25, played ten games with the Reign recording a +3. He came to Ontario after a six-game stint with the South Carolina Stingrays. Prior to the Stingrays the Fort McMurray, Alberta native began the season with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the SPHL. He appeared in 27 games with the Cottonmouths and recorded 5 points (1g, 4a) and 21 penalty minutes.

Parkhouse, 24, made his professional debut with the Reign after completing a four-year collegiate career at Becker College in Worcester, Mass. While there, the forward finished as Becker's all-time leader in goals with 49, assists with 66, and points with a total of 115. He led his team in points in all but one season, his junior season, when he missed seven games.
