Rampage to Hold Seventh Annual Pucks & Paws Game on Sunday
March 5, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (March 5, 2014) - The San Antonio Rampage will host the seventh annual Pucks & Paws game when the Charlotte Checkers come to the AT&T Center at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs along for the game. The team is hoping to top its record of 842 dogs in attendance, which was set during the 2012-13 season.
Tickets for dogs will be $5 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW). All dogs must be on a leash, accompanied by an adult (one dog per person) and will be directed to enter through the Bud Light Courtyard on the west side of the arena. Water and relief stations will be located throughout the courtyard.
In conjunction with the Matsumoto's Rescues Program and the Animal Defense League (ADL), the game will feature several interactive elements focused on the canine friends in attendance, and select adoptable dogs will have the chance to ride on the Zamboni during intermissions. Adoption stations will be set up along the concourse for fans wishing to find a forever home for a four-legged friend.
Matsumoto's Rescues will culminate its season-long efforts on Sunday afternoon in which fans are encouraged to bring pet food, towels, blankets, pet shampoo and plastic grocery bags to the AT&T Center on game day to be donated to the ADL. The program was started by the Rampage center in October in an effort to raise awareness for the importance of pet adoption and address the stray dog population in the neighborhood surrounding the AT&T Center by hosting a series of collection drives throughout the Rampage season. More than 860 items have been donated to Matsumoto's Rescues so far this season.
Tickets for Pucks & Paws Night, and all remaining Rampage home games, start at $10 and can be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office, by calling a Rampage representative at 210.444.5554 or online at sarampage.com.
