Canadiens Acquire Dubnyk, Assign him to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Nashville Predators in exchange for future considerations. The 6'6", 210-pound goaltender has been assigned to the Bulldogs.

Dubnyk has split this season between the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League. In 32 games with Edmonton, the 27-year-old had a record of 11-17-2 with a 3.36 goals-against average, .894 save percentage and two shutouts. In two games with Nashville, the Regina, Saskatchewan native had a record of 0-1-1 with a 4.35 goals-against average and .850 save percentage.

In 173 career NHL regular season games with the Oilers and Predators, Dubnyk has a record of 61-77-22 with a 2.90 goals-against average, .909 save percentage and eight shutouts. In 132 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins and Springfield Falcons, he has a record of 42-76-4 with a 3.02 goals-against average, .907 save percentage and three shutouts.

Dubnyk was originally drafted by the Oilers in the first round (14th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Hamilton's next game is scheduled for Friday, March 7th when the 'Dogs will host the Oklahoma City Barons (AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers) at FirstOntario Centre at 7:30 p.m.
