Kings Acquire McNabb, Two Second Round Draft Selections From Buffalo

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have acquired defenseman Brayden McNabb and a second round choice in each of the 2014 and 2015 NHL Drafts from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for left wing Nicolas Deslauriers and right wing Hudson Fasching, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

McNabb is expected to join the Monarchs. Both draft selections acquired today by the Kings were originally Kings selections that were sent last year to Buffalo as part of the Robyn Regehr trade on April 1, 2013.

McNabb, 23, has split time this season with the Sabres and Rochester Americans (AHL). In 12 games with Buffalo, he has zero points and six penalty minutes. In 38 games with Rochester, he has 29 points (7-2229) and 45 penalty minutes. McNabb has played in 37 career NHL games (all with Buffalo) recording eight points (1-78) and 21 penalty minutes. McNabb was drafted by the Sabres in the third round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft (66th overall).

Deslauriers, 23, has played in 60 games with the Monarchs this season and has 39 points (18-2139) and 76 penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Kings in the third round (84th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Fasching, 18, has played in 31 games with the University of Minnesota this season and has 27 points (12-1527) and 20 penalty minutes. He was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (118th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
