
Appearance by Scott Nichol on Friday and "Pucks & Paws" Night Sunday Highlight Amerks Weekend Games

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans will return home this weekend for two games, beginning Friday, March 7 versus the Syracuse Crunch at 7:05 p.m. Friday's game will be a Seneca Casinos Legends Night as former Amerk and Calder Cup champion Scott Nichol will sign autographs prior to the game beginning at 5:45 p.m.
On Sunday, March 9, the Amerks will hold their second annual Pucks & Paws Night as fans are welcome to bring their dogs when Rochester hosts the Oklahoma City Barons at 5:05 p.m.
Nichol played in 325 career games over six seasons with the Amerks from 1994-95 to 1999-00, recording 173 points on 80 goals and 93 assists, along with 813 penalty minutes. Nichol was a key member of Rochester's 1996 Calder Cup championship team, recording 13 points (7+6) and 36 penalty minutes during the postseason. In 63 career playoff games with the Amerks, Nichol collected 28 points (9+19) and 104 penalty minutes. He currently ranks seventh all-time in Amerks franchise history in penalty minutes and fifth in postseason games played. After starting his professional career with the Amerks, Nichol went on to play 662 career NHL games.

"Pucks & Paws" tickets for Sunday's game are available for just $17 and include admission for both owner and dog. Season Ticket Holders can gain admission for a dog by making a $5 donation to Lollypop Farm.
A portion of the proceeds from Pucks & Paws Night will be donated to Lollypop Farm, which serves as the Humane Society of Greater Rochester and is committed to building lifelong bonds between people and animals through education, community outreach programs and the prevention of cruelty.
All fans with dogs in attendance on Pucks & Paws Night will be seated in one of three dedicated sections for dogs (211, 212, 213), as dogs will not be permitted in other sections. Fans will be limited to bringing just one dog per person to the game.
Tickets for Pucks & Paws Night are available by visiting www.amerks.com/paws, where fans can also upload a photo of their dog to be displayed on the video board during the game, which will feature plenty of canine-friendly themed events, including a "Pooch Parade" on the ice during intermission. The first 300 dogs in attendance will receive a free Pucks & Paws bandana, while information tables will be set up for Lollypop Farm and other Rochester area dog-related agencies.
