Flames Assign Derek Smith to Abbotsford

Calgary, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned defenseman Derek Smith to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Smith has scored four goals and added six assists for 10 points in 15 games with the Abbotsford Heat this season. He has also played 14 games with the Calgary Flames collecting one assist.
