Rampage Slip Past Barons 4-3 in Overtime

OKLAHOMA CITY - The San Antonio Rampage (37-20-5-1) beat the Oklahoma City Barons (37-19-4-3) 4-3 in overtime in front of 2,758 at Cox Convention Center Friday. With a game decision coming in overtime, the Rampage ended the Barons' season-high nine-game streak of games decided in regulation. San Antonio pulls within one point of the West Division lead with 80 points on the year.

Corban Knight opened up the night's scoring early, putting the puck past Laurent Brossoit's short side just 1:57 into the first period for his 12th tally of the season. Mitch Moroz sent in the equalizer with a backhand marker to tie the game at one at 7:10, and Jordan Oesterle took advantage of a rebounded puck, lifting a shot past Michael Houser to make it 2-1 in favor of the Barons. Wade Megan scored his third of the season, converting off a pass from John McFarland to tie the game at two at the end of two periods.

Quinton Howden scored the Rampage's 10th short-handed goal of the season to make it a 3-2 game just 55 seconds into the second period, as Brett Olson skated up ice, and before being tripped up by Matthew Ford, slid the puck to Howden who wristed one over Brossoit before jumping over the paint to avoid contact.

Joshua Winquist took advantage of the Barons' third power play of the game when put the puck through the arm of Houser to knot the game at three in the third period. For the sixth time in 11 games of the season series, the Barons and Rampage needed additional time to decide a winner.

With his third goal in as many games, Blake Parlett sealed a 4-3 win for the Rampage just 2:06 into overtime.

Houser, in his eighth-straight start, made 22 saves on 25 shots. Since taking over the top goaltending spot for the Rampage, Houser has allowed just 18 goals, going 6-1-1-0.

KEY STAT Howden scored his first goal since March 2, 2014, which also came in Oklahoma City.

Olson, who had a multi-point effort (2A) in the win, extended his point streak to three games. Other multi-point nights came from Knight, who now has four points in two games.
