March 20, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Oklahoma City Barons News Release

Blake Parlett netted the game-winning goal in overtime as the San Antonio Rampage skated to a 4-3 win over the Oklahoma City Barons Friday night at the Cox Convention Center.

At the 2:06 mark of the overtime period, the Rampage's Bobby Butler put a shot on net that deflected off Barons goalie Laurent Brossoit and landed in the left side of the slot, where Parlett, batted the puck into the vacated side of the Oklahoma City net for the Rampage's third consecutive victory and the Barons' second straight loss.

Despite falling to the Rampage, the Barons earned a single standings point by reaching overtime and, with 81 points, still hold a one-point lead over the second-place Rampage.

San Antonio got on the board first with a goal by Corbin Knight at 1:57 of the opening frame after the Rampage's Garrett Wilson slid a puck from the right side of the Barons net to the left, where Knight beat Brossoit for a 1-0 San Antonio lead.

The Barons tied the game at 7:10 of the first when Mitch Moroz grabbed a Josh Winquist pass near the Rampage blue line and skated in on San Antonio goalie Michael Houser before backhanding a shot under the net minder's pads for his third goal of the season.

Jordan Oesterle gave the Barons a 2-1 lead at 10:54, chipping the rebound of a C.J. Stretch shot under Houser's pads from point-blank range.

A costly turnover by the Barons in their defensive zone led to a tie game at 16:29 of the first period. After the puck came loose in front of the Oklahoma City net, San Antonio's Wade Megan stickhandled the puck alone in front of the Barons net, forcing Brossoit to scramble, and lifted a shot past the OKC goaltender.

The Rampage took a 3-2 lead 55 seconds into the second period while shorthanded due to a Jesse Blacker roughing penalty assessed at the end of the first period. Following a Barons turnover near center ice, San Antonio's Brett Olson grabbed the loose puck and sent a pass to Quinton Howden, who streaked into the Barons zone and fired a shot that skidded under the right pad of Brossoit. Howden's goal marked the fifth shorthanded score surrendered by Oklahoma City since being the last AHL team to concede an undermanned goal on Jan. 17.

Oklahoma City tied the game on the power play at 6:55 of the third when Josh Winquist sent a pass to Jason Williams on the right side, where Williams sent the puck back to a streaking Winquist, who lifted a backhander between the post and Houser's left arm. Brossoit recorded his third assist of the season on the play, setting a franchise record for assists in a season by a goalie.

San Antonio outshot the Barons 35-25 for the game, including 3-0 in the overtime period.

The Barons dressed just 17 skaters, one shy of the standard, as regulars Curtis Hamilton, Bogdan Yakimov and Chase Schaber were injured scratches.

The Barons' next game is Saturday, March 21, when they face the Chicago Wolves in a 7 p.m. start in the first of a two-game weekend series at the Cox Convention Center.
