With the overtime loss, the Monsters gain one point in the standings. Andrew Agozzino scored the lone goal for the Monsters, who are back on the ice Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. when they host Grand Rapids at Quicken Loans Arena.

Toronto notched the only goal of the opening frame when Greg McKegg took a pass across the goal mouth from Petter Granberg, who located a loose puck for the Marlies. McKegg tapped the puck over the goal line to give Toronto a 1-0 lead at 9:08 of the first period.

Andrew Agozzino tied the game at 1-1 for the Monsters with 11:56 left in the second period. Agozzino and Ben Street sprung up the ice on a two-on-one rush, and Agozzino toe-dragged to the slot and ripped a shot high-stick side to beat Toronto goalie Christopher Gibson. Ben Youds and Mat Clark assisted on Agozzino's team-leading 19th goal of the campaign.

The game remained tied into the three-on-three portion of overtime, when McKegg struck again for Toronto. McKegg wrapped the puck around and slipped it over the goal line to secure a 2-1 lead for Toronto with 1:10 remaining in sudden-death overtime.
