IceHogs Host 16th Annual Jersey Auction Game this Sunday
March 20, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Saturday, March 21 vs. Adirondack Flames
Time: 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Country Night: The IceHogs are celebrating Country Night at the BMO as they kick off a weekend doubleheader. The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive an IceHogs BBQ Apron presented by Vienna Beef.
Live Music: Local country band Long-Shot will be in house to provide the tunes throughout the night. The group will be performing on the stage behind section 101 before the game, during intermissions and following the game's conclusion.
Matchup: Rockford plays the second of three games against Adirondack in a 10-day span on Saturday night. The IceHogs have won each of their first two meetings against the Calgary Flames affiliate, including a 4-3 shootout victory on Wednesday night at the BMO. The two teams will conclude their season series next Friday in Glens Falls, N.Y.
Sunday, March 22 vs. Texas Stars
Time: 4 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Jersey Auction Night: Sunday marks Rockford's 16th Annual Jersey Auction Night, with the IceHogs sporting specialty Autism Awareness jerseys. After the game, there will be a live auction on the ice surface for the limited edition uniforms, with proceeds going to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation.
The primary beneficiary for the 2015 Jersey Auction is The Autism Program of Illinois Service Project, the largest statewide provider of autism services in the United States. Portions of the night's proceeds will also go to other local initiatives, such as the Jr. IceHogs, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America and Big Brother and Big Sisters of Rockford.
Puzzle Giveaway: Sticking with the Autism Awareness theme, the first 2,500 fans will leave with a free puzzle, courtesy of the IceHogs and The Autism Program.
Silent Auction: Fans are invited to visit the concourse behind section 122 to participate in a blind silent auction. Prizes include a custom painted autism awareness goalie mask signed by Michael Leighton and Antti Raanta, custom painted, team-signed goalie sticks from Ronnie Espig and Hellion Design, as well as the chance to customize any of the previous IceHogs specialty jerseys this year.
Matchup: Rockford continues their four game homestand by welcoming the defending Calder Cup Champion Texas Stars to the BMO. The IceHogs and Stars recently met on Feb. 27-28 in a weekend series in Cedar Park, Texas, with Rockford winning both matchups. A win on Sunday would give the IceHogs a four-game sweep in the season series with Texas.
Fan Experience: Looking for even more fun at the BMO? By visiting the Experience App, fans can choose from a number of upgrades or special encounters to make the IceHogs game even more memorable. Experiences include seat upgrades, a visit from Hammy, watching pre-game warm ups from the penalty box and more. Visit icehogs.expapp.com for more information. Experiences vary by game and are subject to availability.
Tickets: Tickets are still available for both games and can be purchased at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster location, by phone (815-968-5222) or online at www.icehogs.com.
