San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (August 7, 2007) - The San Antonio Rampage will officially open their sixth season at home on Saturday, October 6. The top affiliate for the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes will host Dallas Stars' top affiliate, the Iowa Stars, at the AT&T Center at 7 p.m.
The Rampage will play a total of 80 games (40 home, 40 away) with a fan-friendly home schedule featuring 30 weekend dates (12 Fridays, 11 Saturdays and 7 Sundays). All of the Rampage home games start at 7 p.m. with the exception of Sunday games which will start at 5 p.m.
All regular season games can be heard on the Rampage's flagship station KTKR "The Ticket" 760 AM (subject to conflicts).
SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN
The Rampage will be one of 29 teams-an AHL high-competing for the Calder Cup. Five of the Rampage's 18 opponents will make their way to San Antonio for the first time this season as all three of league's newest members visit the AT&T Center at least twice during the 2007-08 campaign.
The Quad City Flames (Calgary) and Rockford IceHogs(Chicago) join the Rampage in a new look, eight-team West Division with the Lake Erie Monsters competing in the Western Conference's North Division. The Rampage will not play any teams in the Eastern Conference's East Division, but will face four of the seven-team Atlantic Division, with the Providence Bruins (Boston) and Springfield Falcons (Edmonton) visiting the AT&T Center for the first time.
The Rampage's annual rodeo road trip will feature a 14-game odyssey, split into two segments, comprising approximately 7,563 miles. The team will play four games in five days before the 2008 Rbk Hockey All-Star Classic that takes place in Binghamton, New York, and will finish the remainder of the trip after a four-day break with 10 games within a 20-day stretch.
Rampage home game highlights include an 11-game homestand beginning Nov. 24 through Dec. 21, a Halloween game on Oct. 31 and five weekend games against in-state rival Houston.
