Bears Announce 2007-08 Schedule

HERSHEY - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the American Hockey League the team's schedule of games for the upcoming 2007-08 season. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
The defending Eastern Conference Champions will open the 2007-08 regular season Wednesday, October 3 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township. 17 days later on Saturday, October 20, the BEARS will play the club's 70th home opener by facing the Rochester Americans at 7:00 p.m. at GIANT Center.
By the numbers, HERSHEY will play two home games in October, seven in November, and nine in December in 2007. The BEARS will also play seven home games in January, five in February, six in March and four in April to round out the docket. The Philadelphia Phantoms will visit central PA six times this season, with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Norfolk each coming to town five times. Non-East Division opponents playing at GIANT Center this season include the Toronto Marlies, Hartford Wolf Pack, Springfield Falcons, Lowell Devils and Portland Pirates. The first-year Lake Erie Monsters will come to town on Saturday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. for another out-of-division contest. Manitoba returns to HERSHEY for two games on March 15-16, while the defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs make their only GIANT Center appearance March 29 at 7:00 p.m.
Season tickets are on sale now by calling (717) 508-BEAR, with plans starting at just $145. Great seats are still available, including the popular 12 and 22-game plans that allow you to pick your own games that fit your schedule. Training camp opens for the BEARS on Thursday, September 20, with two home exhibition games slated for Saturday, September 29 and Sunday September 30 against Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Single game tickets will go on sale to BEARS season ticket holders on Tuesday, September 4 at 10 a.m., with the on sale date to the general public one week later on Tuesday, September 11 at the GIANT Center box office.
