THEY SAID IT:
Bears head coach Derek King on evaluating the game:
"It's tough evaluating because the guys worked so hard and they played well. I think we got a little tired in the third, but I liked our effort. I liked the way we forechecked and I liked the way we tracked hard. So hats off to those guys."
King on who may have impressed him so far through the first two games of preseason:
"[Kyler] Kupka's looked good. The biggest one for me is [Jalen] Luypin has really stood out and earned at least an extra look. Obviously we've got to look at other players that management wants to have a look at, so when I get back home, I'm sure I'll have an email or a phone call [with a list of] the guys that they need to see. I'd like to get closer to what we're going to have for the season [for Sunday's preseason game at Lehigh Valley], but we still have a lot of bodies. And like I said, at the start of camp, [the players need to] make it hard for us coaches to make that decision."
The Bears conclude their preseason schedule when they visit the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 3:05 p.m. at PPL Center. Hershey opens the 2025-26 season, presented by Penn State Health, against the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at GIANT Center.
