Kings Come To Terms With Cammalleri

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with restricted free agent left wing Michael Cammalleri, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Cammalleri, 25, this past season set career highs for goals (34), assists (46), points (80), power play goals (16), game-winning goals (five), power play points (37), plus/minus (plus-5), shots (299), games played (81) and time-on-ice average (18:02) while leading the team in points, assists, power play goals, power play points and shots. He also led the Kings with 21 multiple-point games, ranked second in goals and he ranked second on the club in shooting percentage (11.4).

Originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (49th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario, was also named the club's winner of the Bill Libby Memorial Award, which is given annually to the club's Most Valuable Player. In all, he has played in 220 games over four seasons with the Kings (2002-07) and he ranks eighth all-time on the franchise list in goals (74) by a left wing.

Following the 2006-07 season, Cammalleri skated for his native Canada and won a gold medal at the 2007 World Championship (9 games played, 4-3=7).

Cammalleri skated in 133 games with the Monarchs from 2002-05 and recorded 71 goals, 97 assists, 168 points and 100 penalty minutes. His 71 goals, 22 power play goals and 168 points are ranked second all-time for the Monarchs and his 97 assists are in third place all-time. Cammalleri led Manchester in goals (46), assists (63) and points (109) during the 2004-05 season. His 46 goals that season also led the AHL.
