
River Rats Announce 2007-08 Schedule

Albany River Rats News Release
Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats today announced their complete 2007-08 American Hockey League regular season schedule. The River Rats begin their historic 15th AHL campaign on the road against the Binghamton Senators on Saturday October 6, 2007 at 7:05 p.m. The primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes will then play their home opener at the Times Union Center against the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday October 13 at 7:00 p.m. The 2007-08 regular season comes to a close on Sunday April 13, 2008 when the River Rats visit the Philadelphia Phantoms in a 5:05 p.m. match-up.
The River Rats will once again play in the East Division of the Eastern Conference with a total of 48 Divisional games on the schedule. The club will play three "home" games at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Saturday, December 15 at 5:00pm, on Saturday, February 9 and Saturday, March 8 at 7:00pm. All home games at the Times Union Center begin at 7:00pm with exception of two dates on November 24 and December 29, which start at 5:00pm. The River Rats will play 29 of their 40 home games on weekend dates (Friday, Saturday & Sunday), including one Sunday meeting with Philadelphia on March 2.
December will be Albany's busiest month of the season with 15 games, which includes five home dates and 10 road match-ups. The River Rats show a season-high eight home games in both November and February, while the club will host six dates in January and March. Albany will have two season-long, four-game home stands from October 13 -24 and again from February 9 -16. The club will embark on a season-long, seven game road trip on March 21 and will play their seventh and final road contest on April 5.
Other notes of interest:
- The River Rats will skate against the Toronto Marlies for the first time in franchise history with games at the Times Union Center on October 31 and in Toronto at Ricoh Coliseum on December 30.
- Albany will take on longtime rivals, the Syracuse Crunch eight times, while the club will skate against the Rochester Americans in a pair of match-ups during the 2007-08 campaign.
- The 2008 AHL All-Star Classic will be held on January 27 - 28, 2008 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, N.Y.
Individual game tickets for the 2007-08 regular season will go on sale at the Times Union Center Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets in early September.
