San Antonio Rampage News Release

ROCKFORD, Illinois (January, 13, 2009) - Sub zero temperatures did not stop the red-hot Rampage from winning their third straight on the road, claiming a 4-2 win in Rockford Tuesday at the MetroCentre. San Antonio built a 3-0 second period lead before the IceHogs closed to within a goal, but Joel Perrault scored his third empty netter of the season to close the show.

Perrault also got it started for San Antonio in the first when he scored his fifth goal of the season 3:28 into the game on the man advantage.

Then 37 seconds into the second period David Spina extended his points streak to seven games with a power-play goal and 2-0 Rampage lead. Later in the period, Alex Bourret extended it to 3-0 at the 12:45 mark.

Rockford finally broke through with 4:37 left in the second when Jack Skille scored his 15th of the season to make it 3-1. The IceHogs crept even closer in the third when Skille took advantage of a five-on-three power play to find Pascal Pelletier backdoor for a 3-2 deficit with nearly twelve minutes remaining in regulation.

The Rampage were able to hold off two more IceHogs power plays and Perrault scored his second goal of the game with eleven seconds remaining and San Antonio held on for a 4-2 win.

Josh Tordjman stopped 20-22 shots to earn the win and Corey Crawford took the loss allowing three goals on 28 shots. The Rampage went 2-2 on the power play and held Rockford to 1-5 on the man advantage.
