
Wolves Defensemen to Assist Reading Program

Chicago Wolves defensemen BRIAN SIPOTZ and GRANT LEWIS will make appearances on Tue., Jan. 20, as part of the team's "Read to Succeed" program, sponsored by Pace. The program has reached nearly 450,000 children in 14 seasons.

Grant Lewis Crystal Lake Library 126 Paddock St. 7:00 p.m. SIPOTZ and LEWIS will focus on the role of reading and education in their lives as professional athletes and emphasize the importance of recreational reading. Additionally, the Wolves blueliners will dress a child in hockey equipment, raffle Wolves prizes and sign autographs.
The "Read to Succeed" program encourages children to utilize the many resources libraries have to offer and highlights the benefits of reading outside of the classroom. Each participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the chance to win prizes, including Wolves hats, mini bobbleheads of the Wolves mascot, Skates, and tickets to home games for achieving their reading goals.
Each year, the Wolves reach more than 30,000 children through "Read to Succeed" and the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems. The program has reached nearly 450,000 kids since its inception in 1995.
